is that the completed work of Jesus Christ on the cross nullifies, make obsolete, takes away, REPLACES the law of Moses.
Month: February 2022
A harvest is a model of resurrection:
- A seed or bulb is planted
- Then a glorious new flower sprouts up
Just as we are buried, resurrected, and given a new body
1 Corinthians 15:36-38, 42-44
A caterpillar is a model of
dimensionality:
- At first he crawls across the ground.
- Then he hibernates in a cocoon.
- Then he breaks from the cocoon and flies away as a butterfly.
Just as we now live in 4 dimensions (length, width, height, and time) and will be buried to rise in the dimensions of Jesus
1 John 3:2
Jesus is atoning for us
in at least 4 ways:
- As our substitute – Romans 3; 5
- Christ died to appease God and meet the demands of the law
- As our advocate
- effected reconciliation and made us righteous before God
- As our mediator – Luke 22; I Corinthians 11
- established a new covenant and made us partners
- As our savior – John 3:16
- grants us eternal life through faith in Him
Living in Jesus
is about principles rather than rules (the law):
- 1st Principle – I Corinthians 10:31
- is whatever your considering doing to the glory of God?
- 2nd Principle – I Thessalonians 5:22
- has it the appearance of evil?
- 3rd Principle – I Corinthians 8:9
- is it a stumbling block to a weaker Christian?
First time by Water, next time by Fire
Jesus judged the world with a flood in Noah’s time and promised never to do that again -Genesis 9:11-13
Next time He will do it by fire -II Peter 3:2-13
Ye are the Temple of God
7 times in scripture:
- I Corinthians 3: 9-17
- I Corinthians 6: 19
- II Corinthians 6: 16
- Ephesians 2: 20-21
- Hebrews 3:6
- 1 Peter 2:5
- 1 Peter 4:17
Parable of the Pearl of Great Price
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it. – Matthew 13:45-46
the merchant man = Jesus
the pearl of great price = believers, the body of Christ, the Church (not the buildings)
Of all jewels, the pearl is the only one that is made by a living organism as a response to irritation that has been introduced. It is then removed from its place of growth to become an item of adornment.
Oysters are not kosher, one can only eat seafood with scales. -Deuteronomy 14:10
Pearls were not prized by the Jewish community, but they might
trade in them because they would sell them to the Gentiles. Pearls are
distinctly a Gentile ornament, not a Jewish ornament.
The kingdom of heaven is like Jesus calling believers: and when the Church was complete He took possession of that which He purchased on the cross and removed it from it’s place of growth to be with Him in heaven, during His return, through the millennium, and in eternity.
Jesus has bought us and the creation back with the blood He shed on the cross, and He will take final possession, with us following, after He finishes opening the seven sealed title-deed He takes out of the right hand of the Father. – Revelation 5:1, Revelation 5:7
