Creation Week

Day 1 (Sunday) – Light – Genesis 1:1-5

2nd Day (Monday) – Fabric of space – Genesis 1:6-8

3rd Day (Tuesday) – Land and vegetation – Genesis 1:9-13

4th Day (Wednesday) – Sun, Moon, & Stars – Genesis 1:14-19

5th Day (Thursday) – Sea animals & Birds – Genesis 1:20-23

6th Day (Friday) – Land animals & Man – Genesis 1:24-31

7th Day (Saturday) – God’s work completed, Sabbath rest – Genesis 2:1-3

Gap Theory

Problems with the Gap Theory:

  1. Why did no one find out about it until 1814
  2. It violates scriptures
    1. Genesis 1:5 – says it is The 1st Day
    2. Genesis 2 & 3; Exodus 20:11 – in 6 days God created the heaven and earth and the sea and everything in them
    3. Genesis 2:2; Hebrews 4:4 – say that it was The 7th Day
  3. It puts death before sin
    1. violates Romans 5:12 and 1 Corinthians 15:21
  4. It has Satan fall before Day 7
    1. goes against Genesis 1:31 where God looked at His creation and said it was very good
    2. violates Genesis 2:8 and Ezekiel 28:12-15 where Satan was in Eden until iniquity was found in him
      1. Genesis 2:8 – the garden of Eden created on Day 6 for placing the man God created
