Creation

God says He created the earth, man, and the heavens with all that is in them – Isaiah 45:12, 18

In a nutshell:

Invented in 1814 by a Scottish preacher named Chalmers
Between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2
- Angels created
- Satan falls
A judgment, associated with Satan’s fall, came upon the earth to make it without form and void

Problems with the Gap Theory:

Why did no one find out about it until 1814
It violates scriptures
1. Genesis 1:5 – says it is The 1st Day
2. Genesis 2 & 3; Exodus 20:11 – in 6 days God created the heaven and earth and the sea and everything in them
3. Genesis 2:2; Hebrews 4:4 – say that it was The 7th Day
It puts death before sin
1. violates Romans 5:12 and 1 Corinthians 15:21
It has Satan fall before Day 7
1. goes against Genesis 1:31 where God looked at His creation and said it was very good
2. violates Genesis 2:8 and Ezekiel 28:12-15 where Satan was in Eden until iniquity was found in him
  1. Genesis 2:8 – the garden of Eden created on Day 6 for placing the man God created

At first there was nothing, and then it exploded
Then planet earth cooled and formed a rocky surface about 4.6 billion years ago
Then it rained on the rocks for millions of years and created a prebiotic soup in the ocean
Then this soup came alive and we evolved out of that

God points to man thinking man came from a stone – Jeremiah 2:27

God says He created the earth, man, and beast – Jeremiah 27:5

Although God has made man earth’s steward – Genesis 1:26

And it is righteous to be a conscientious steward of His creation – Genesis 1:28, 29, 30

Man will not save the earth, God will destroy it on His timetable – Revelation 20:11
