Genesis 30:

Genesis 37:
- Becomes chief shepherd Joseph is 17
- Jacob makes a special coat for Joseph
- Brothers didn’t like him because Jacob loved him most
- Joseph had a dream that he would rule over them and they hated him more
- Joseph had another dream that he would rule over them and his mother & father. Over the house of Jacob.
- Brothers plot to kill Joseph but Reuben convinces them to throw him in a pit instead so that he might return Joseph to Jacob later
- Brothers striped Joseph of his coat and threw him in a pit
- Judah suggests they sell Joseph to the on coming Ishmeelites, they agree and sold him into slavery for 20 pieces of silver
- Reuben returned to the pit, Joseph was gone, Reuben was upset and told his brothers
- Brothers dipped Joseph’s coat in goat blood, took it to Jacob, and told him Joseph was dead
- Joseph was eventually sold to slavery in Egypt
Genesis 39:
- Joseph becomes overseer of his Egyptian master’s house
- The Egyptian master’s wife tries to seduce Joseph, he denies, and she falsely accuses him
- Joseph goes to prison and becomes head of the prisoners for the prison keeper
Genesis 40:
- Joseph interprets the chief butler and chief baker’s dreams while they were in prison. The chief butler would be restored to his position in 3 days, and the chief baker would be beheaded and hanged from a tree for birds to eat in 3 days. The dream interpretations come to pass.
Genesis 41:
- Joseph interprets Pharaoh’s dream. There would be 7 years of feast and 7 years of famine to come. Joseph tells him to hire someone to gather corn during the 7 feast years so that they could survive through the 7 famine years.
- Joseph is made Prime Minister of Egypt, put in charge of everything up to the Pharaoh’s throne. Joseph gathers corn during the 7 feast years, the 7 famine years begin and he starts to sell the corn. Egypt is made rich in property. Joseph is 30
Genesis 42:
- Jacob send his sons, other than Benjamin, to buy corn in Egypt. Joseph recognizes them, insinuates they are spies, ends up keeping Simeon and telling the rest to return with Benjamin to prove otherwise. He gives them corn and puts their money back in their sacks.
Genesis 43:
- Jacob won’t let Benjamin go, they run out of corn, Judah convinces Jacob (on Judah’s life) to let Benjamin go. They go, Simeon is set free, and they have lunch with Joseph.
Genesis 44:
- Joseph sells them corn, puts their money back again, and puts his silver cup in Benjamin’s sack. Joseph sends his steward after them and they are accused of stealing the silver cup when it is found in Benjamin’s sack. Judah pleas with Joseph.
Genesis 45:
- Joseph breaks down and tells them who he is. They reunite and Pharaoh sends wagons back with them so that they could move to Egypt. Jacob agrees to go.
Genesis 46:
- Joseph is reunited with his brothers and father, Jacob Joseph is 39
Genesis 50:
- Joseph and his brothers along with Pharaoh’s servant, the elders of Joseph’s house, and all the house of Jacob take Jacob to Machpelah and bury him with Abraham
- Joseph dies Joseph is 110
